eMMC Image

Hello,

is it possible to create an image of the eMMC that can be easily restored with the MFGTool?

I currently have 3 RIoTboards and it take some time to Upgrade/Install/Configure all needed Packeges.

-> If the Project goes well it can be 100+ boards...

Regards,

Oliver

It´s not possible to create an image and then flash it on the emmc of the board with MFGTool.

What´s possible is, that you create an image, flash it onto an sd card (or dd the image directly on the sd card with the riotboard) and then put it into the next board, boot from it and then dd it onto the emmc.

You then only have to create one sd card and you can reuse it to flash those 100+ boards.

Yes, this would be an option, and can easyly be done by script.

-> Does the eMMC holds any data (e.g the serial bootmode or recovery data) that must be preserved or can the eMMC be overwritten from flash 1:1 (starting with addr 0)?

The eMMC is simply nothing else but an sdcard.

The bootcode from u-boot is written at the beginning of the card. So you can copy the whole thing 1:1.
