Hi,
I Have just bought the Discover Wi-Fi board and also downloaded the software. In the first instance I wanted to port the stm32f40x software to my Mbed. I have completed this task, but now have a number of questions.
I noticed while porting the software that there is a copyright notice /******************** (C) COPYRIGHT 2009 Embest Info&Tech Co.,LTD. ************.
(1). Will the Embest software ever be released as OpenSource?
(2). Is my port an infringement of the Embest copyright?
(3). Can I publicly release my Mbed port of the Embest copyrighted software?
While running the software and joining a network I cannot get access to the internet, I assumed that this is due to using a different subnet. I also found that when accessing sn8200.com (The sn8200 sever.) the pages were different to the ones shown in Discover Wi_Fi UserManual_V4.pdf.
(4). Should I be able to access the internet using the sn8200 as an AP?
(5). Should I be seeing the same content as shown in Discover Wi_Fi UserManual_V4.pdf?
(6). Is the sn8200 M3 firmware Embest, MuRata or Broadcom copyright?
(7). Will there be a release of the source code for the M3.
Are the software bound to NDA's so that nobody from the open source development community can use it?
Regards,
Dave.
