STM32F4 Discovery WiFi - Does it support WiFi direct?

jshroff

I am playing around with the STM32F4Discovery WiFI accessory kit and had a couple of questions

1. Can we program the WICED Boradcomm processor on the WiFi modules itself? I tried looking for documentation on this but have not had much success so far

2. Does the module support WiFi direct?

Thanks

Jay

I haven't tried it myself, but to my knowledge you should be able to program the STM chip on the module. Murata has support for the WICED SDK, I even think the needed files are included in the WIFI download now. The WiFi module also have the JTAG pins on one of the connectors so you should be able to either use a standalone debugger/flasher or use the integrated ST-Link one on the discovery board from the SWD connector.

For WiFi direct, I wouldn't know, but Murata data sheets for the module itself is probably your best source for information.

Edit: Another user re-programmed the WiFi-module using the discovery board STM32F4DIS-WIFI (SN8200) Firmware Updates? This should be part of the manual even though some proper pin layouts on the connectors would be greatly appreciated instead of forcing one to try to decrypt the low-res images in the manual which are even mirrored sometimes.
