Overview

The AlteraRegistered's DK-DEV-4CGX150NDK-DEV-4CGX150N CycloneRegistered IV GX FPGA Development Kit provides a comprehensive, best-in-class design environment to quickly begin developing low-cost and low-power FPGA system-level designs.  The PCI-SIG-compliant board, high-speed mezzanine card (HSMC), and the license-free QuartusRegistered II Web Edition software provide everything you need to begin developing custom Cyclone IV GX FPGA designs. This kit helps to shorten your product’s development cycle so that you can meet your product’s time to market and production milestones.

The following list describes what you can accomplish with the kit:

  • Develop and test PCI ExpressRegistered Gen1 x1, x2, x4 endpoint designs using the Cyclone IV GX PCI Express hard intellectual property (IP) and PCI-SIGRegistered-compliant board.
  • Develop and test multi-lane protocol bridging designs using on-board DDR2 memory and through its expansion capability, the high-speed mezzanine card (HSMC) connectors. There are over 30 different HSMCs available through Altera partners and supporting protocols such as CPRI, SATA, and SDI.
  • Come up to speed quickly with your FPGA design by reusing the example designs provided by the kit's Board Test System.
  • Use the kit´s host board as design model for your product’s low-cost and low-power board.
  • Test signal quality of the FPGA transceiver I/Os (up to 3.125 Gbps)
  • Develop embedded designs utilizing the NiosRegistered II processor and the SSRAM memory.
  • Take advantage of the modular and scalable design by using the high-speed mezzanine card (HSMC) connectors to interface to over 30 different HSMCs provided by Altera partners, supporting protocols such as Serial RapidIORegistered, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, SONET, Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI), Open Base Station Architecture Initiative (OBSAI) and others.
  • Develop FPGAs design for cost-sensitive applications and volume production.
  • Measure the FPGA's low power consumption.

Key Applications: Broadcast, Consumer,  Consumer, Industrial, Wireless, Wireline.
