The Texas instruments bq500210EVM-689bq500210EVM-689 evaluation module (EVM) is a high-performance, easy-to-use development tool for the design of wireless power solutions. The EVM is a bqTESLA single-channel transmitter that will power the bq51013EVM-725bq51013EVM-725 Integrated Receiver or any other Wireless Power Consortium certified receiver. Together, the bq500210EVM-689 Transmitter and bq51013EVM-725 Receiver enables designers to speed the development of their end-applications.

 

Evaluation Module (EVM) BQ500210EVM-689BQ500210EVM-689:

  • The bq500210EVM-689 evaluation module demonstrates the transmitter portion of the bqTESLATm wireless power system.
  • This transmitter EVM is a complete transmitter-side solution that powers a bqTESLATm receiver.
  • The bq500210EVM requires single 19-V at 0.5 A power supply to operate and combines on the single printed-circuit board the transmitter electronics, input power socket, LED indicators, and the transmitting coil.
  • The open design allows easy access to key points of the electrical schematic.
  • The board has installed connectors for optional JTAG and serial interfaces that can be helpful to advanced users.

Generation 2 Qi Compliant Wireless Power Transmitter Manager BQ500210BQ500210:

  • The bq500210 is a second generation Wireless Power dedicated digital controller that integrates the logic functions required to control Wireless Power Transfer in a single channel WPC compliant contactless charging base station.
  • The bq500210 is an intelligent device that periodically pings the surrounding environment for available devices to be powered, monitors all communication from the device being wirelessly powered, and adjusts power applied to the transmitter coil per feedback received from the powered device.
  • The bq500210 also manages the fault conditions associated with the power transfer and controls the operating modes status indicator.
  • The bq500210 supports improved Parasitic Metal Object Detection (PMOD). The controller in real time analyzes the efficiency of the established power transfer using Rectified Power Packets and protects itself and the power receiver from excessive power loss and heat associated with parasitic metal objects placed in the power transfer path.
