Kit Overview
The bqTESLA150LPbqTESLA150LP low power wireless power evaluation kit from Texas Instruments is a high performance, easy-to-use development kit for the design of wireless power solutions. Consisting of a single-channel transmitter featuring the bq500110 along with 5V power supply receiver featuring the bq51013, the kit enables designers to speed development of their end applications.
The bq51013 device is a highly integrated solution in a 1.9mm X 3mm chip scale package. Few external parts are required which simplify design and minimizes solution area. With no additional software development required, bqTESLA allows for true plug-and-play functionality. The evaluation kit is designed for compatibility with the Qi Standard.
The BQTESLA150LP.BQTESLA150LP. Kit is made up of two separate EVMs, Receiver EVM is the bq51013EVM-725bq51013EVM-725 and Transmitter is bq500110EVM-688. Also each individual EVM will operate with other Qi compatible devices
The bq51013EVM-725bq51013EVM-725 evaluation module (EVM) demonstrates the receiver portion of the bqTESLA wireless power system. This receiver EVM is a complete receiver-side solution that produces 5 V out at up to 1 A when coupled with the bqTESLA transmitter. The bq51013EVM-725 device shown on this EVM along with external components that support the device for a complete solution.
The bq500110EVM-688 evaluation module demonstrates the transmitter portion of the bqTESLA wireless power system. This transmitter EVM is a complete transmitter-side solution that powers a bqTESLA receiver. The bq500110EVM requires single 19-V at 0.5 A power supply to operate and combines on the single printed-circuit board the transmitter electronics, input power socket, LED indicators, and the transmitting coil. The open design allows easy access to key points of the electrical schematic. The board has installed connectors for optional JTAG and serial interfaces that can be helpful to advanced users.
