Kit Overview

The EVAL-AD568xRSDZ Evaluation Board is used to evaluate AD5686RAD5686R, AD5686AD5686, AD5684RAD5684R, and AD5684AD5684 quad channel, voltage output digital-to-analog converters (DACs). The EVAL-AD5686RSDZEVAL-AD5686RSDZ supports both the AD5686R and AD5686, and the EVAL-AD5684RSDZEVAL-AD5684RSDZ supports both the AD5684R and AD5684.

The evaluation board is designed to help customers quickly prototype new AD568x(R) circuits and reduce design time. The AD568x(R) operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply. The AD5686RAD5686R and AD5684RAD5684R incorporate an internal 2.5 V reference to give an output voltage span of 2.5 V or 5 V. The AD5686AD5686 and AD5684AD5684 require an external reference.

The evaluation board interfaces to the USB port of a PC via the SDP board. Software is supplied with the evaluation board to allow the user to program the AD568x(R). The SDP Controller board should be purchased separately (EVAL-SDP-CB1ZEVAL-SDP-CB1Z). If you have not previously purchased an SDP Controller board, please do so to ensure a full evaluation setup.

Development Tools

Software Development Tools:

AD5686x(R) Evaluation Software

The evaluation kit for the AD568x(R) includes self-installing software on the CD. The software is compatible with WindowsRegistered XP, Windows Vista (32-bit), and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit). The software must be installed before connecting the SDP board to the USB port of the PC to ensure that the SDP board is recognized when it connects to the PC. The software allows the user to program values to the input and DAC registers of each DAC individually or collectively.

Hardware Development Tools:

SDP-B Controller Board

The SDP-B is a controller board for the System Demonstration Platform (SDP). The SDP-B is based on the Blackfin ADSP-BF527 processor with connectivity to the PC through a USB 2.0 high speed port. Controller boards allow for the configuration and capture of data on daughter boards from the PC via USB.The SDP-B (EVAL-SDP-CB1ZEVAL-SDP-CB1Z) is the required controller board for this evaluation system.Evaluation boards requiring the SDP-B will not work with the SDP-S controller board.

Techncal documents do not include mechanical drawings of the EVAL board. Yes there is PCB layout available but now mechanical drawings. Even better would be some sort of 3D CAD model for that.

I am working on my thesis and it would be really nice to have this data.

The board I am using in my project  is EVAL-AD5684RSDZ.
