Kit Overview

The EVAL-AD5694RSDZEVAL-AD5694RSDZ evaluation board is used to evaluate AD5694RAD5694R and AD5694AD5694 quad channel, voltage output digital-to-analog converters (DACs). EVAL-AD5694RSDZ supports both the AD5694R and AD5694.

The evaluation board is designed to help customers quickly prototype new AD5694(R) circuits and reduce design time. The AD5694(R) operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply. The AD5694RAD5694R incorporate an internal 2.5 V reference to give an output voltage span of 2.5 V or 5 V. The AD5694AD5694 require an external reference.

The evaluation board interfaces to the USB port of a PC via the SDP board. Software is supplied with the evaluation board to allow the user to program the AD569x(R). This evaluation board requires the EVAL-SDP-CB1ZEVAL-SDP-CB1Z board (SDP-B controller board). The SDP Controller board is a separate list item and it should be purchased separately. If you have not previously purchased an SDP Controller board, please do so to ensure a full evaluation setup.

Key Applications: Digital gain and offset adjustment, Programmable attenuators, Process control (PLC I/O cards), Industrial automation, Data acquisition systems, Optical transceivers, Base-station power amplifiers.

Development Tools

Software Development Tools:

AD5694R Evaluation Software

The evaluation kit for the AD569x(R) includes self-installing software on the CD. The software is compatible with WindowsRegistered XP, Windows Vista (32-bit), and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit). The software must be installed before connecting the SDP board to the USB port of the PC to ensure that the SDP board is recognized when it connects to the PC. The software allows the user to program values to the input and DAC registers of each DAC individually or collectively.

Hardware Development Tools:

SDP-B Controller Board

The SDP-B is a controller board for the System Demonstration Platform (SDP). The SDP-B is based on the Blackfin ADSP-BF527 processor with connectivity to the PC through a USB 2.0 high speed port. Controller boards allow for the configuration and capture of data on daughter boards from the PC via USB.The SDP-B (EVAL-SDP-CB1ZEVAL-SDP-CB1Z) is the required controller board for this evaluation system.Evaluation boards requiring the SDP-B will not work with the SDP-S controller board.
