Ripup top-bottom groundplane by command: all gnd via's gone....

Hi,

I stumbled into this behaviour:

- double sided board

- top and bottum has GND copper pour's

- top and bottum pours connected at several places by some via's (named GND)

All fine so far, however when I ripup GND (e.g. to change the copper pour

area's) by command : "ripup GND" all my via's are gone !

When I just select the ripup command (toolbar) by mouse and select the (not

visable) copper pour polygon edge, the gnd pour is removed but the via's are

still there (and that is good.....).

Is the above "normal" behaviour ? or am I doing something stupid...also

selecting by mouse is tedious, is there also a command/setting to ripup gnd

AND preserving the via's ? Tried the "lock" command, but that seems not to

work for via's...

Thanks in advance,

Carel.

    Hi Carel,

It sounds like you are telling it to ripup the entire signal.

The command ripup @; will ripup all the polygons but nothing else.

Otherwise, select the border of the polygon and do use the ripup command.

see HELP RIPUP. the ripup command not only removes traces, it also

changes a polygon from "filled" display to "outline" display.
