Signal Integrity Check

Hello all,

 

I was wondering if there was a way to run some tests on the PCB layouts

in Eagle?  signal integrity, thermal management and the like.  I have

two boards that I believe are close to being ready for fab, but I would

like to be able to ensure my designs prior to fabrication so that I can

be more likely to get stable systems on fab and population.

    Well, the best check is to build them and measure their performance if

    they are analog. If they are digital, well, same thing!

     

    There are some ULP's that help estimate temperature rise, delay time,

    etc in traces but these things should be designed into your board from

    the start if they are important.

     

    A real package that can take a board definition and run the checks you

    are talking about is usually only done by giant corporations with $$$$.

    Even then, simulation is only simulation, reality is reality.

     

    Make some prototype boards to get any problems ironed out, then pray and

    go to production...
