GND and Supply layer polygons

Hi,

I am currently designing a 4 layer board using layer 2 as GND and layer 3 as

VCC. Everything has come together well, but I need to isolate an area around

some connectors and Relays which will carry 240VAC.

How do I manipulate the default polygon on these layers which appears to

cover the entire board layer to the edges. (also not considered good

practice as a 1-2mm gap to the board edge is recommended to prevent short

circuits when the board is manufactured).

    define the outlines by yourself.

     

    Additionally, the distance to the borders is specified in the DRC

    parameters.

     

    The distance to other signal types can be set by using "classes" - see

    HELP CLASS (and/or the manual) for details. Here, you'd need a class for

    the signals carrying mains voltage, then set the minimum distance

    between this class and all other classes to (say) 6 mm, and (say) 2 mm

    within this class. The supply polygon (of one of the other classes) will

    automatically keep this distance from all objects carrying line voltage

    then (when calculated with ratsnest). Take care to run the DRC also to

    check for distance violations.

     

    Finally, common layers for ML4 are 1, 2, 15 and 16 (15 instead of 3).
