polygon fill up to edge and drill holes

Former Member
Former Member over 14 years ago

Was wondering how to have my gnd polygon fill fill up to the edge and

drill holes. I remember having asked this question years ago, but can't

find a way to search the newsgroup beyond the last year or so.

Thanks

In the DRC, set the distance copper/dimension to 1 mil

On your polygon, set the thermals off

    Jerome

PS: it's not a good idea to have copper close to the physical edge of a

board (risk of shorts at manufacturing)

Ok, that worked. Both sides of my board carry gnd, so shorts aren't a

concern. It's nice to have fill up to the drill holes now. Eagle did

complain when I set the drill distance to zero, but would the pcb fab

    complain if I did?

    Thanks!

as mentioned in another thread, the fab might get confused and "guess"

that those holes be plated. whether this is a problem, I couldn't say.

usually the purpose of using a hole rather than via is to /avoid/ an

    electrical connection...
