Uploaded library : Included in the new eagle version ?

Former Member
Former Member over 14 years ago

Hi all,

Since I use work done by others people(Library), I'd like to share my work with Eagle Community.

My thoughts was simply to add my work to the official library and then upload that file on the Cadsoft website

BUT I read the article by Jorge Garcia: http://www.element14.com/community/message/38855#38855/l/standard-for-library-creation-version

And finely a don't know what to do exactly by now... :-/

How our work are incorporated in the next release of eagle library ?

On which basis are our work include or not ?

Off course I understand that our work must be done in a "good way" (defined by Jorge Garcia rules ;-)

You can upload your library at the cadsoft site like so many other

    people did.

AFAIK your library will not be included in the cadsoft libraries.

People working with the the user-libraries are themself responsible that

the devices are correct. No one gives you garantee, not even cadsoft for

their own libraries nor any other company for theirs.

It's nice to know that the community is benefitting from that already,

I'll be releasing the official version hopefully sometime

    next week.

Joern, is correct on this one. User libraries are generally not included

in the EAGLE distribution, these are left up on the website as a

repository where other users can use them.

There are no guarantees, as Joern mentioned that's why you'll find some

of the more experienced users will only use parts they make themselves

because it gives them perfect control of their designs.

Off course I understand that our work must be done in a "good way" (defined by Jorge Garcia rules image

The objective of the standard is to raise the overall consistency of

users submitted libraries, since you will find some that are very poorly

    done.

Thanks for looking at the standard, we are always here to help.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge
