New part creation?

Thanks for replying. I am using version 5.11.0

As far as sending the library part, not sure how to. I can send a copy of my library via e-mail if I had your address.

Just a note that might help solve the problem. When I create the part, it is displayed with a red outline only, which I am pretty sure that way it should be.

Hey Joern,

Just figured out what mysteriously got changed. Somehow I must have clicked on the layers tool, selected change and for some unknown reason clicked on fill style. Go figure. Anyway, problem solved. Thank you so much for being willing to help me out.

Aahh! So that;s what you did.  You used a rectangle to create a box. If you

inspect the libraries you will find boxes are made from wires on 4 sides.

Changing the color fill style  for that layer  to get the same look will

haunt you later on, I suspect.

Well done. I was not expecting your complete library but a small library

with just that device.

In future if you want to do just that or exchange library parts there

are basically 2 ways to do that:

1. Open a new library and leave it open.

In control panel go to libraries, expand them, select the DEVICE you

want, rightclick it with the mouse and select "copy to library".

That is it.

2. Drag and drop.

A new library and the control panel both must be seen simultaneously on

your sceeen. Just grab the device in control panel with your mouse, drag

it to the library window and let go (drop).

In any case you must name and save the new library.
