Electronic Component Zero Orientation For CAD Library Construction

We see very little mention of getting the orientation correct when building

library packages.

IPC has some rules

http://pcbget.ru/Files/Standarts/IPC_7351.pdf

This similar document results from those rules and depicts how they should

look in the your library (zero degrees)

http://ohm.bu.edu/~pbohn/__Engineering_Reference/pcb_layout/pcbmatrix/Component%20Zero%20Orientations%20for%20CAD%20Libraries.pdf

Getting these consistent and correct in your libraries can assist your

assembler when they review your design and setup the machines to assemble

your boards. This should result in less errors, cost and improve

turn-around.

I hope this assists you

Warren

Several organizations made such rules/recommendations. They change

them from time to time to keep us busy.

EIA 481, IPC-7351, IEC 61188-7, each in various editions.

    FED made http://wiki.fed.de/images/0/0e/Lage_der_Bauteile.pdf

    http://blogs.mentor.com/tom-hausherr/blog/tag/ipc-standards/ describes

    the madness.

CadSoft libraries were not even consistent.
