Eagle PCB design question. Please Help!

Former Member
Former Member over 12 years ago

Dear all,

I am new to Eagle and I am current designing a PCB which have mixed signals. It is a 4 layer design with Signal, Ground, Vcc, Signal. Since I have an Analog ground and Digital ground, how can I create 2 ground supply parts, ie AGND and DGND since when I am changing their name or value, they are not seperating.

Please help me guys! Thanks!

    Hello Savio,

First click on the letter i in the command button area, then click on

one of the ground plane borders.  The Properties Box will appear where

you can select the amount of isolation for each ground and also the

order of priority by setting the Rank.  Repeat for the second ground

plane and set Rank to the next higher number.  When you click Ratsnest

you will notice the two ground planes will be separated.

    Best Regards,

    Mike

Additional I might say that you should use different symbols for

different grounds. Those can be found in the supply libraries. Of course

you can create them yourselves image
