who implement this, and where?
I think one of us (users) should do this job
That's a very good question. It is easy to propose these ideas
but
implementing them, successfully, is another issue.
As I see it there are two obvious routes
a) set up some web based app that does it all. Providing a template for
something similar already exists, sounds simple
but no doubt would
take significant commitment from someone to set this up... any takers?
b) do a quick and dirty version here. which would go something like
1. establish a basic list to be used e.g.
1. hierarchical schematics
2. import dxf
3. design re-use support
4. teardrops
5. explicit name for schematic sheets
6. on the fly DRC for track spacing
etc...
Few problems though...
Who decides what's on the list? If it's community, then we all must
contribute to make a good listing that everyone can then vote on. This
means quite a discussion of just features.
What if the list changes? Say another feature suggestion comes along I
want more. Can I change my votes around? It would be nice if I could. If
we post here it doesn't work that way very well.
Shouldn't those who have paid have a much greater weight on their votes
when it comes to feature requests than those using the free edition (or
are free edition users allowed to vote at all)? Reason being that many
users of the free edition are likely to be transient. If so, how do we
know who has paid?
