Why do I get DRC errors after I autoroute. The autorouter places the
vias too close to the pads so when I do a DRC check I get the warnings.
And this happens without any changes to the Design rules.
Any ideas?
Thank you.

Could you give us more details, for example, which EAGLE version?
Best would be to send me your board file with private mail.
So I could check it.

I am using 4.16r1 lite. I tinkered with it a little more and found out
that it is dependent on the routing grid. If you use too small a grid,
the vias are placed too close to the pads. I started with a courser
grid (10mil) and went to a finer one (5mil) and it seemed seemed to fix
the problem. However since the 5 and 10 grids overlap, why would EAGLE
place the vias too close when starting with the 5mil grid?

This should not be a matter of grid setting. As I alreasdy wrote,
please send the board file and tell me what to do, so that I can
reproduce this error.
