Through Hole pads

Greetings,

I am having trouble figuring out how to make the following 5 pad mini

USB connector: http://www.molex.com/pdm_docs/sd/5000751517_sd.pdf

When I use the pad tool, the "elongated" pads are not round and they

have different lengths than what is suggested.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

AFAIK, you will need milled slots for the part's mounting ears.  If

milling is expensive, then you can use a single large hole for each ear.

This large hole may be so large that solder doesn't fill in the hole

and therefore doesn't solder the ear.

Thank you for your help.  My question is also the regular pads, not just

the ears: when I specify a diameter for the elongated pad, its sets its

length automatically.  How can I get around this? I was thinking of

drawing my own shapes in the pads layer and also in stop layer,

essentially I will be building the pad manually.  Does this sounds like

a good idea or is there an easier way?

    Thanks again,

    Amer

With 4.16 you can't add copper to a lib part without causing either DRC

errors or if you use other layers it is unchecked and could cause

    undetected shorts or DRC problems.

You can add or change the stop mask shape.
