Autoroute Issue

autodeskguest
autodeskguest over 17 years ago

Say there is a part, 48 pin  with 4 multiple Vdd's and I want to place a

.1uf bypass near each VDD pad.

I place the cap there near the right pad, tweak the placement a little, then

run ratsnest and finally actually have the connection running to each cap

directly from the pad.

I run the autoroute, when complete, the direct route from cap to pad to

lost.  That means the last resort of manually routing the caps first, then

autorouting.  Problem here is the optimize sometimes rips up my previous

manual route. Not to mention, often there are other tweaks to the board

after I route it, and then would have to come back and manually route the

caps a number of times before finally committing.

If anyone can relate to what I am going through, please let me know if there

is a solution to this.  Ideally,  feature to "lock" in place existing routed

traces would be the perfect solution.

Thanks

The autorouter can't change manually routed traces.

If you connect the capacitors before starting the autorouter the

    traces won't be touched.
