How to change thickness of text?

autodeskguest

Somehow the text snapped to a thinner structure. It's proportional font

and I can't get it back to the fatter font. Right now I am just copying

old text (from before when it snapped for some reason), then change it

with the text tool. Is there a proper way to do it?

    Hi Joerg,

Use the ratio property.  I think the formula is

Stroke width = size * ratio

In any case, increasing the ratio will make the stroke thicker.  It might be

a case of the default ratio changing in the eagle.scr file?

    Cheers,

    James.

That's just the point, it seems that with a proportional font changing

the ratio does not do anything. The text remains skinny and hard to read

    on a printout.

What worked was to close the file, close Eagle, open Eagle again, load

file. Now it's back to normal. I still cannot change the thickness but

at least it's back to standard thickness. Weird ...

    Hi Joerg,

Are you in the schematic editor (knowing how you use EAGLE I suspect this is

the case).  In that case, I'm not sure.

I have vector fonts always on so I'm not sure how proportional fonts

influences this.  I would think the ratio parameter does the same thing but

    I don't know for sure.

What version of EAGLE are you using?   Closing and opening the file should

have no effect on this at all.

    James.

Yes, schematic. If any of my clients wants an Eagle layout I'd give you

a call and then send the stuff to Ontario image

Vector fonts don't look very good when doing an initial presentation

    with just block diagrams.

Version 4.16r2. It does have some weirdnesses to it that have been there

in previous versions as well. For example, there are never any active

libraries when starting up so "use *" must be typed in every time. Or

sometimes it won't print. No error message, nothing. Then you have to

restart or de-select and re-select the printer. Kind of like

    double-clutching on large trucks.
