Eagle 5 on Mac OS 10.3.9

autodeskguest

Hello mac users. Though Cadsoft list Eagle 5 as needed Mac OS 10.4 up, I

have successfully installed and run Eagle 5 using Mac OS 10.3.9

I opened several projects and did some work on them (copies of course, not

my actual master files).

I have not taken a project from start to finish yet... wondering if anybody

out there has any experiences to share re: Eagle 5 on Mac OS 10.3.9

Would be great to avoid upgrade Mac OS.

Thanx,

Tony

Eagle 5.6.0 seems to run OK here under Mac OS X 10.3.9, but I have not

    done extensive testing.

However, 5.7.0 installs but will NOT run.  Console error message:

    Link (dyld) error:

    dyld: /Volumes/Apps/myApplications/EAGLE PCB

    LAYOUT/EAGLE.app/Contents/MacOS/EAGLE Undefined symbols:

    /Volumes/Apps/myApplications/EAGLE PCB

    LAYOUT/EAGLE.app/Contents/MacOS/EAGLE undefined reference to

__HIViewScrollRectWithOptions expected to be defined in Carbon

Due to the switch to a newer version of Qt the minimum system requirement

for the Mac version of EAGLE is now Mac OS X 10.4. This is mentioned on

http://www.cadsoft.de/info.htm under "System Requirements" and also in the

README file that comes with EAGLE. Unfortunately it was forgotton mention

    it in the UPDATE file.
