Precision of feature placement

I'm trying to place some holes reasonably precisely, but when I move the

mouse to position (x,y), drop the hole, then look at it with the info button

I find it's invariably shifted a few grid points.  I'm fairly sure this is

not just my shaking hand!   I'm working around this by increasing the grid

resolution to the point where it's way above the precision I need, but is

there a better way to deal with this?

    with the mouse the placement will be on the grid. You overlooked one of

    the nice features of eagle which is keyboard entry of position. Look in

    the online help under keyboard and mouse and also move.
