Can anyone recommend a good (and cheap) board house that
accepts Eagle files?

Try www.pcb-pool.com . They are exclusively supporting eagle files and they
provide drc rules file directly ! One doublesided eurocard for less than 36$
!
I have manufactured several boards and even 4 layers board was perfect.
Added to that they send pcb picture during maufacturing process...

I would add to Luc's recommendation. I use them for 4-layer boards. I am
located in the US and the boards are made in Ireland. They are price
competitive and very easy to work with even compared to US domestic
suppliers. The Eagle DRC is very handy. You can get an instant on-line
quote.
