Changing width of copper text

Hi all,

I did put a piece of text in copper on the bottom layer,

but I can't change the width of the copper. DRC gives me

an error because the width is to small. Any idea's?

Check if it is written with vector font and change the

    text's width with CHANGE RATIO.

Ratio is defined by text width to text height.

And what are good/valid numbers? I changed the ratio to 15%, but still

    getting DRC errors.

    Hello Jesse,

It depends on what you have set as the minimum width in the DRC check

and the size of the text: Ratio is defined by text width to text height.

    I use 1.778mm (0.07")text and a 16% ratio with the (standard) 10mil

    minimum width.

The important thing is to set the minimum width in the DRC so that your

boardhouse will accept the gerbers; the standard should be fine. After

that put your text in the desired height and just keep increasing the

ratio until the DRC accepts it. If your text gets unreadable you should

use a larger size. In your next board just use the same settings.
