Hello,
I am using the lite version of Eagle, and I would like to create an RF
circuit layout that includes microstrip transmission lines. These will be
areas of metal on the top layer that will connect to other components like
matching capacitors etc.
I am trying to figure out how to connect these RF transmission lines to the
rest of the circuit and maintain
sync with the schematic. Some of the RF design simulators I work with can
create a DXF output of the matching circuit, which can be imported into
Eagle. I have tried to use one of the DXF to Eagle script converters to
import such a file, but when I do this I lose forward&back annotation with
my schematic. I want to maintain this. The other option I am thinking about
is to create an actual library part for the matching circuit, and a
schematic representation of such, thus allowing me to sync the schematic and
the board layout together- but this strikes me as a rather time consuming
approach, especially considering that the RF circuit undergoes many
iterations, thus forcing me to have to make a new library part each time.
I have included an attachment of an example of an RF circuit which I am
trying to lay out.
Thanks for your help,
Richard
