This question is somewhat related to the previous post about high-current
traces.
So have a net class called High Current which defines the trace width of
0.100" and have labeled the associated nets on the schematic as such. The
autorouter then routes these traces with the specified net class parameters.
Here's the problem..... I have some components connected to these net
classes which do not need the class definition associated with the net. Here
is an example: I have high current +24V going through a relay an am using
the same +24V source for the relay coil. The coil does not need to same
trace width as the relay contact points.
So, my question is, how would I specifiy a net alias with a different class?
I can solve this by placing a component like 0 ohm link and then changing
the class on the other side of the component. But i would like a cleaner
solution that does not require redundant components.
TIA.
