Parts Libraries and Vendor parts list to simplify odering parts

I am looking for a means to make ordering parts that I use in designing PCBs

easier.  It seems to me that an addition to the library of manufacturer and

part number would be useful.  Or possibly a spreadsheet showing the library

and part number with manufacturer and part number.

I would be happy to colaborate on making a comprehensive list of this nature

with others who use Eagle CAD.  This would save us all a ton of time in the

long run.  Maybe Mouser and Digi-key as well as other vendors could be

specified.

Any ideas?  Anybody want to work on this with me?  Has this already been

done?  If so, where can I get ahold of the results?

Please feel free to email me at

Tim

Anyhow, be careful. For example, there are literally dozens of part

numbers for, say, the ubiquitous 0.1uF 0805 cap. Some folks need a

higher voltage and can live with Z5U ceramic, others don't need high

voltage but almost get a heart attack if the ceramic material isn't at

    least X7R.

And also resistors. It would be nice if there was a way to also take into

account the value in order to generate a part number. Like just put in the

required specifications and suitable parts are loaded from the ordercode

    database or something.
