Editing Eagle defaults?

There are a few cases where I'd like to change the Eagle defaults:

setting grid values, turning them on, changing a couple of colors, and

such. Is this possible, and if so, how?

    That is possible. There is a user manual in the doc directory and the

    help F1.

    You can edit the eagle.scr  file.

    Found it. The manual and file itself don't provide a lot of detail/

    explanation, but I finally got it.
