newbie new device help

RICHARDBOWN

Hi All

I'm trying to create the libary part for a ADM1186-1

previous posting  have helped and I'm nearly there.

I've created the device ,named both pins and pads and connected them,

the pins have been assigned whether in , out or pwr, BUT

I still have the little green rings on the pins saying which function it is.

When I bring up the edit box it shows "AD1186" , I need to change this

as there is a AD1186 which is a very different device, its a typo by me.

if from the edit box I click on device on the toolbar I have the device

as seen on the schematic on the left the QSOP footprint on the right,

the description is OK, but another typo in the technologies box, I

havn't found how to correct this.

I can place this device on the schematic OK , but it is not there on the

board.. What did I miss, this is the first libary I made so its a near

vertical learning curve.

TIA

    Disable layer 93 Pins

    I thought we talk about a ADM1186?

Anyway, in the library at the command line type:

RENAME oldname.DEV newname  (this goes for a device).

RENAME oldname.SYM newname  (this goes for a symbol).

RENAME oldname.PAC newname  (this goes for a package).

if from the edit box I click on device on the toolbar I have the device

    Not so important right now.

Perhaps you have drawn the package in the wrong layers and these layers

are not activated in your board.

In the DISPLAY menue of your board select all layers and your device

should show up, or something else is wrong.

General you should generate your own library and not modify the cadsoft

libs. And it would be nice to say which Version of eagle you use.

If you want to, you can send me your library via PM and I shall have a

look on it, so I can tell you, what is wrong with it.
