Library Part

Is there a step by step instructions on how to add a part to the library (I

have the data sheet) or make changes to an existing part? I read the maunual

but could not follow through with building an item to add to the library.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

At the beginning it is easier to make a copy of the package and symbol

into a custom library of your own and then play with it there.  Making

a library device from scratch is quite involved and you should expect

to spend a good deal of time learning.  Basically it is divided into

    three steps:

    1.  Creating the symbol or symbols used in the schematic layout.

    2.  Creating (or copying) the package used in the board layout.

    3.  Making a "device" by defining the connections beteen the pins of

the symbols and the pins of the package.

If you make a drag a copy of device from an existing library into an

experimental library of yours, then you can play around with all these

actions and learn a lot that will help you understand the manual.
