Only input pin

Hello Eagles,

 

I am using the ERC and get the following error on a PAD --- WIRE --- PIN of

a MAX232 pin R1IN and R2IN : Eagle says that we should Only input pins on

net N$27.

 

The pin R1IN of the MAX232 is an input RS232 READ signal.

 

Have anyone a clue to help me!

    I think the ERC message you're referring to indicates that there are ONLY

    input pins on the net.  What is this R1IN input pin connected to?  It should

    be connected to an OUTPUT of some other device to drive it.

    That is only a warning.

    Normally you should not have inputs not connected to outputs.

    You did not tell Eagle you will use the PAD as "output" to the net.

     

    Easiest is just to approve it in the dialog (only Version 5)

    Or change library/part so the pad is output.  (or MAX232 PAS or

    something else, but that is not elegant)

    R1IN and R2IN should be connected either to a pin of a  RS-232RS-232

    connector or to GND.
