silkscreen incursion into Cu pads

All the EAGLE libraries should be designed in a proper way

so that there is no silkscreen over copper. The Design Rules

Check (EAGLE 5) reports "Stop mask" errors in case Silkscreen covers

solder stop mask areas.

 

You have either to move the (designator) texts and place them

without covering Pads/SMDs/solder stop mask

or change the silkscreen drawing in the library and update

your board with the modified package. I haven't heard about

a ULP that could do this.

 

A technique I use for checking for S/S overlay when reviewing the gerber

files is to view the S/S layer under an inverted version of the top solder

mask layer. (I use gerbv on Linux for this; I presume the functionality is

also available on other viewers.) Any S/S that covers a hole or pad becomes

immediately apparent because it appears in the 'clear' areas of the

inverted solder mask layer, ie, where the pads and holes are.
