Greetings,
I'm unsure of which land pattern to use for a 1206 resistor. In the Eagle
rcl libraries, R1206 and M1206 are listed. The M1206 land pattern pads are a
tad bigger than the R1206 land pattern pads.
Which should I use?

There is no simple answer to this. The pad pattern is process related
and that is why there are so many duplicates in the parts lists. What
works well for hand soldering may cause tomb stoning in a reflow oven.
You must decide for yourself once you have an understanding of how the
part is to be soldered in production.
