inner-layer keepout

Hello everyone,

Lets say I have defined Layer 2 as a filled polygon named 'GND', but there

are a couple of area I want to be void of the fill.  How would I go about

this?   I noticed there is a tKeepout and a bKeepout but nothing for

inner-layers.  I used the 'Wire' command and made a 'box' around the parts

in question, and this worked.  It didn't poly-fill within the box, but I'm

also left with the isolated 'wire' box.  I'd like to get rid of the box too.

I'm using the Professional version of 4.16r2.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Duane

    Hi Duane,

This has been mentioned before, and a way to create non-copper areas on each

layer would be good.  But that doesn't exist in EAGLE 4 or 5.

A solution to your problem would be to use two overlapping polygons.  Name

them the same and make the same rank (rank might not be necessary, can't

remember off the top of my head) and they will flow into each other.  So if

you make two "C" polygons they will flow together and leave you a void area

    where they don't overlap.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,

    James.
