Hi there!

When working with a single sided board, is the copper side considered the

top or the back?

Thanks

Glen

    Hi Glen,

I would prefer components on top and copper on bottom (as it will exist

later in the real world). But it's your choice as long as you tell the pcb

    manufacturer what your intentions are.

    Hi Carsten

    Thanks for the info

I etch my own boards as a hobbyist.

Yes I put my components on the none copper side, just wasn't sure what the

    board schematic in Eagle

considers top and bottom. So component side is top and copper side is bottom

    makes sense.

Looking at the names and colors of the layers, the bottom layer is in

blue, the top layer is in red.

You can make a single sided board with jumpers by using the top layer

to draw straight lines, then replace these with wire jumpers.

Alternatively, you can use a jumper as a component, but that will

    require editing the schematic.
