Package Sizes

Are package sizes the same for all components? What I mean is 0805

capacitor would be the same size as 0805 ferrite bead?  The reason I ask

is that the rlc library has packages labeled C0805.  I was wondering if

it is specific for a capacitor.

Thank you

The footprint is identical, however there sometimes are slightly

different tolerances - and especially different heights. So when it

comes to automated assembly, you often need to distinguish between

different packages (not for EAGLE, but for the assembly machine).

So the letter C at the beginning is the indicator that its a capacitor.

If I am building the footprint for an inductor, would it be safe to

copy the capacitor footprint and rename it with the letter L at the

    beginning?

    Thank you,

    Amer

    Probably yes.
