Overlapping solder masks

Hello again,

Can someone please enlighten me what pad size would you use for the

package on page one of http://focus.ti.com/lit/ml/mpbg832d/mpbg832d.pdf ?

It seems to vary between 0.36 mm and 0.46 mm.  However if I use the

larger value, the default solder masks overlap. They do not overlap if I

use the median value.

Also what does 0.15 M with a circle mean?

Thank you for all your help.

A

I would just use 0.4mm, since the values given are to indicate the fabrication tolerances. Your fabricated PCB will also have some tolerances so don't make too much of a problem out of it. Also, BGA works best if the pads on the PCB are of the same diameter as those on the BGA chip.

Also what does 0.15 M with a circle mean?

It is the pad surface area, so approximately 0.15mm².

Thank you for all your help.

    A
