Script Language

autodeskguest

I am still trying to get my round board outline in the BRD file.

I produced a DXF file and using one of the Eagle tools i converted it o a

script file.

But the problem is that i would like the center of that outline be on the

center of the board screen.

Therefore it would be helpful if there is some explenaition of the script

language.

Not findeng much help in the included script files.

The scripting is or can use any of the command line functions with same

    syntax.

Use the mark and add the relative move commands. The on line help has

    all of the info.

The on line help describes ULP syntax.

One other option is to make the board outline a lib device then you can

    move it as one piece.

    Hello Harry,

If you already have a board file with your circuit imported and the only

issue is that you want it centered, then you can just do that by hand.

Figure out the offset you have now that you want to remove.  I'll call

this Xoff and Yoff.  They can be negative or positive.

    First use the command

    set Option.ToggleCtrlForGroupSelectionAndContextMenu 1

so that your group won't jump when you right click to select the group.

This will give EAGLE 4 behaviour.  Otherwise, you won't know where you

    are.

Now turn on all layers and...

Set grid to be exactly Xoff, group everything, move the group exactly one

grid in the X direction and zero grids in the y direction.  With the option

set above, you select your group with the right-click after selecting the

    move command.

Now repeat for Y direction by setting grid to be exactly Yoff and move one

    grid in y direction.

Now everything should be centered as you like.  You can return the

right-click behaviour to the EAGLE 5 default by using the set command and

setting it to 0.  But I recommend this behaviour.

NOTE TO CADSOFT: it would be nice if the arrow keys performed movement by

exactly one grid.  That would make this type of thing much easier.

    Cheers,

    James.

Would it be possible to set a new origen at the outline X-Y offset?
