"disable" or "comment out" components

  Is there a way to "comment out" or disable certain parts in eagle, so

they would still appear in the schematic, but not on the board?

  • are you saying it is possible to add the symbol to the schematic without

    adding a containing device?

     

    to clarify the issue of hierarchy and package-less components:

    i ( and others) often suggest the possibility of an "off-board" package

    or other mechanism in order to document components that are not to be

    board-mounted on the schematic.

    the usual response to this is that these devices should be included on a

    higher level drawing.

     

    and yes, my reason for suggesting this is not the same as the OP's

    request and this would not help him. i did not read his post very

    carefully, except for the title.
