Autoroute angles

Hello,

I am using the autorouter in 5.6.0 and do not seem to be able to prevent

traces going at an angle.

I have set and set preferred directions and set the costs for diagonal step

and ortho step very high and this does not help.

What setting do I need to update to have traces go vertical or horizontal

only?

Doing the last few traces manually is difficult with angular traces present.

Thanks,

Doug

just guessing...but there is a cost "NonPref" that sounds like it might

    be what you need.

There is no fixed setting that forbids diagonal steps, but try

    to set

    cf ExtdStep = 99

    mn ExtdStep = 0

    cf OrthStep = 1

    cf DiagStep = 5....10

And don't forget to set this in the Optimize passes as well.

    Hi Doug,

Just a note, I'm not  trying to tell you how to build a specific board but

angles make a better overall board, there are less stresses on tracks. I cut

most of my corners with angles.

    Richard,

I have set it up as suggested.

It will be about a day until it is done, but I should be able to see soon if

    it is helping.

    Thanks,

    Doug
