exported graphics of schematics look "thin"

Hi All,

I am exporting graphics of schematics (to import into pdf and documents),

but they have low contrast, blured/dithered, and not nearly as sharp and

clear as the display (perhaps I should use a screen capture).

One work-around was to increase the widths of lines in schematics (and

libraries) from .008 to .012, but what a hassle!

Any tips on exporting graphics of schematics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The most probable cause is that you are scaling the image in your

documents. Don't scale it, it will loose sharpness. If you want a

smaller image, change the output resolution to be lower, if you want a

larger image, change the output resolution to be bigger.

This will occur in any vector-based drawing that is exported to a raster

image (bmp, jpg, png, etc.) and scaled.

Do /not/ export to a raster grafics format. If you want PDF, simply

generate PDF with the print command. If that PDF shall be part of a

larger document, use a "collecting" printer driver like fineprint

PDFfactory, or concatenate the parts of the document with Acrobat.

For importing images into documents, you might also consider using PS

(EPS) files. If you use raster grafics formats, you need a rather high

resolution for reasonable results, and the files will be large.
