Eagle to Sketchup script (Finaly real 3d)

autodeskguest over 15 years ago

First, I'd like to thank Matthias Weißer for his great work.  Eagle 3D

work great and code look clean.  But unfortunately for me, Eagle 3D

rendering are cute but useless.

Found a script some months ago, I'm amazed that this script did not show

up on forum yet.

That script create a 3d sketchup model of your board.  You can use that

3d in eagle or export it for your mechanical cad software (need

registered version of eagle to export)

The ulp part look quick and dirty, i'd like to see nice and clean Eagle

3D script with sketchup output.  Btw, sketchup model can be later

rendered by povray if needed.

I've done some cleanup moving file to folder and adding example file.

Original script can be found here

http://pubs.gumstix.com/

Models here

Give all credits to gumstix ( www.gumstix.org )

File too big for attachment see link below

Would you email the file at rapidshare directly to me at

fightspammers@gmail.com please? The rapidshare site is already saying

that there are no more download slots available.

    Thanks!

    Travis

What is the difference with povray?

It is just a tool to "show" a 3D picture but not a 3d model

    or I have misunderstod somethink.

Povray is a rendering tool (create realistic 2d representation of a 3d

    model).  Cute but useless.

Google sketchup is a 3d modeler.

With this script you have a real 3d model of your board that can be use

    for mechanical engineering.

Google sketchup can be downloaded free

Google sketchup is a solid modeler, a plugin is available to export 3d

    .dxf mesh model.

Registred sketchup pro (~$599) can export 3DS, DWG, DXF, FBX, OBJ, VRML,

    XSI.
