Web Forum Interface Update Coming Soon!

Hello everyone,

 

Over the last year or so of bringing this web interface to the EAGLE

community a few issues have been brought to our attention.  We are happy to

announce that we will be upgrading the forum software to a new version in

the next week or so.  This should specifically address the following

issues:

 

1)  line length and quoting of replies when transferred back to the

CadSoft news servers

2)  mime-encoding of attachments allowed

3)  attachments before signatures so they won't be clipped off by nntp

clients

4)  UTF encoding for correct handling of German characters

5)  tree view will now work with IE8

 

There are many other useful changes as well, but these were specifically

requested by various users.

 

You should see these changes over the next week or so once we get a chance

to install and some initial testing.

  • I forgot to mention, you'll now be able to sign up for an RSS feed of the

    newsgroups!  Very useful if you're into that sort of thing.

     

    The beauty is that this should now become almost transparent to those who

    still use the nntp protocol.  For those that prefer a different method of

    access you can use the web interface.  And all the info goes to the same

    source repository so that we can all benefit.
