net labels

Hi,

new to eagle. I am a veteran of protel. Is there a way to use net labels

in eagle that is similar to protel. I don't want wires all over the

schematic and I found the net labels make for a clearer schematic. I have

been using eagle for about a week now and can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks

A net-name is unique & connected over all sheets. So you can use at the end

of a net a label & on an other one with the same name another label. To

check the electrical connection use the show-button.

To answer your question, yes you can add labels.  Use the "label" command.

Type "help label" for all the gory details.

The label is also what can provide the cross-reference port symbol.  To get

this you need to place a label and turn on the XREF flag.  That can be done

by checking the XREF checkbox in the properties of a label that is already

placed.  While placing, enable the port symbol like button (mouse-over will

say XREF ON or something) and the label on the mouse cursor will look like

a port symbol.  These are very useful for multi-sheet schematics as it will

auto-populate the next reference of that net on a different sheet.

    Cheers,

    James.
