re-use library symbols

Hello,

I'm trying to re-use a NPN transistor libary symbol in Eagle 5.7.0

The manual states 'cut ( 0 0);' after defining a group with all layers on,

and 'paste into the same or another library' - how does that work?

I tried the cut several times, but how and where can I paste it.

I made a .lbr file in my home with the new transistor name, how can I

insert a NPN symbol into it and carry on.

TIA

Denis

You can draw a new symbol or copy one from another library.  You can copy

packages, symbols, and devices from another library with the COPY command.

    See HELP COPY for details.

You would create your new symbol by selecting symbol in the library and

entering the name that you want to use.

It will then confirm to create the symbol. You can then select paste and put

it where you want. Likely at the origin.

I have found the easiest way to copy between a library or libraries is to

open the destination library and then navigate to the source library in the

    control panel.

Then you can drag a device, package or symbol into the target library.

If you just want to reuse a a symbol in the same library then you do not

even need to copy it, rather just call it from the device editor.
