where to find the library for a part?

Hi everyone,

 

I've used eagle for quite a while but haven't encountered this before. Like if i find a miniature connector on Molex, where can i find the eagle library for it? do i have to create a custom part? will there be a problem if afterwards i create a BOM(bill of materials) based on custom parts. what's the right way to do it?

    Hi Jingbo,

     

    I hope you're doing well. If you can't find the part in the con-molex

    library that comes with EAGLE you may want to check schematicpal.com or

    element14.com to see if you can find suitable parts. If not you'll have

    to make the part yourself.

     

    The bom.ulp that comes with EAGLE can pick up any attributes(defined

    through the ATTRIBUTE command) you assign to the component so you can

    very easily specify manufacturer's part number and such.
