Tool issue? Can't move parts/rotating around bad point/routing traces goes to origin...

I am using v6.1.0 on OSX 10.7, everything was working great (schematic/layout) until I last closed and re-opened eagle...

Now I am unable to move parts (even those with only airwires connected to them), when rotating parts they rotate around the board's origin rather than the part's origin and when trying to manually route an airwire to a trace the tool start the first trace from the pad to the origin of the board.

Anyone seen this before? How do you fix it?

I tried opening previously saved files but this happens to them too. Seems like a tool issue.

Scared to re-install for fear of not being able to apply license I just purchased...

Adding more info, even more strange...

1) The X,Y position of the cursor in the top left window of the layout tool does not update when moving the mouse around
2) When testing with a sample known good file, the tool does not exhibit these symptoms... (parts can be moved, cursor position updates...)

Please check the GRID settings. Maybe to coarse?

Grid was set to 0, changed it to finest / 0.05 and now it works again! Genius.
