Different components in libraries in schematic and board

Hello all,

I'm designing a PCB that needs to be smaller. So i went to change some components from horizontal to vertical mount (diodes).

My problem is that if i search for diode vertical in schematic (ADD or REPLACE) i don't get any results, but if i search for it in board, then they are found. For example i need RAD5G, so go to schematic do add RAD5G and not found again.

It seems there is some kind of problem in schematic search, but i'm unable to find. Of course, i've checked the description box in search, I have "USEd" all libraries and checked in control panel they have use marked, but it seems schematic not using reference libraries.

Do anybody knows how to solve this?

Thanks

Best,

    Hello,

RAD5G is only found in the board editor because it's a PACKAGE. Packages

can't be added to a schematic (only SYMBOLS can) and therefore it isn't

searched for. If you want a match, you'll have to search for a diode type

that has uses the required package (maybe as a package variant). It is

probably a lot easier to make your own device. In 'diode.lbr' both the

'diode' SYMBOL en the 'rad5g' PACKAGE are present. Combine them to a

DEVICE and your done. It's best to copy the result to your own library.

    HTH,

    Richard

    Hello again.

Yes, i got it. As din't know how to combine that, i searched and found this that helped me about combine symbols and packages in devices: http://dangerousprototypes.com/2012/03/07/how-to-make-parts-in-cadsoft-eagle/

    Thanks again.

    Best.
