How to copy/paste a section of the board.

Former Member

I have a portion of the circuit that repeat 3 times. It is easy to copy/paste on schematics. Is it possible to route that section, then copy/paste the routed section and repeat it 3 times? I am using Eagle 6.2 Light Edition.

I read the following in "What Is New in Eagle 6":

Merge board/schematic pairs using the PASTE function with full consistency You can copy an already finished design consisting of a consistent pair of Schematic and Layout into another project.

But can't figure out how to use it.

Thanks for your help.

This feature does not work in the light version as it needs to import to new

sheets and the light version only permits one.

As for actually getting what you want, check out the downloadable ULPs on

the cadsoft site. I think there is a ULP there that can do what you are

    after

I got the Standard Edition of Eagle. At one point I did copy a schematics and seen the board copied with all the routing when using Cut Group and Paste. Then for some reason I can't do it again. I upgraded to Eagle 6.4, so not sure if this has anything to do with the problem. I don't remember I needed to use any ULP, but I could be wrong. Will you please explain step by stepp how I would Cut-Group and paste into a new schematics and get all the routing with it. Thanks in advance for your help.
